Projection mapping is about more than simply fitting a projected image on to the surfaces of an object. Activating inanimate objects through projection mapping can bring about new understanding through augmentation of physical reality. Artistic intervention of an existing structure can subvert the status quo of an ailing society through forced recontextualiztion. And, it can also just look really cool.
